Ship
Committed to safeguarding the maritime industry’s digital frontier, CYGNUS has pioneered innovative maritime cybersecurity initiatives since 2015. As industry leaders, we were the first to conduct comprehensive cybersecurity assessments onboard vessels globally.
CYGNUS has been recognized for its expertise and significant contributions to maritime cybersecurity, acknowledged as one of the contributing companies to BIMCO’s Guidelines on Cyber Security Onboard Ships. These guidelines, produced by BIMCO, are supported by prominent maritime organizations including CLIA, ICS, INTERCARGO, INTERMANAGER, INTERTANKO, IUMI, OCIMF, and the World Shipping Council.
Our specialized team unites maritime experts and cybersecurity professionals dedicated to a common goal: securing the digital landscape of the shipping industry. With a deep understanding of maritime and vessel operations, we deliver cybersecurity measures uniquely tailored to meet the evolving needs of this dynamic sector.
CYGNUS has earned the trust of numerous shipowners, ship managers, and stakeholders by effectively preventing and addressing security risks associated with emerging technologies. We simultaneously ensure compliance with international cybersecurity standards and regulations.
Our mission is clear: to protect the critical infrastructure underpinning global trade by proactively addressing emerging threats and delivering streamlined, effective cybersecurity solutions, both onboard vessels and ashore.
BIMCO’S Guidelines
The firm contributed to BIMCO’s Guidelines on Cyber Security Onboard Ships (Version 4, 2020), a key industry reference adopted by flag states, classification societies, and technical managers worldwide. The Guidelines are produced by BIMCO and supported by, CLIA, ICS, INTERCARGO, INTERMANAGER, INTERTANKO, IUMI, OCIMF and WORLD SHIPPING COUNCIL.
TRINITY Managed Proactive SIEM/SOC Service

Cyber Assessment Onboard
Cyber Assessment Onboard is a structured service designed to support shipping and ship management companies in acknowledging and reducing cyber risk across vessel environments. The assessment aligns with regulatory, certification, and vetting requirements, including IMO Resolution MSC.428(98) and classification society expectations.
The scope covers both technical and procedural dimensions—ranging from system vulnerabilities and network configurations to policy gaps, crew awareness and procedural misses. CYGNUS Technologies was among the first firms to conduct formal cybersecurity assessments onboard cargo vessels
Phishing Simulation
This engagement involves the design and execution of bespoke phishing and social engineering campaigns tailored to the target organization’s communication style and operational context. Campaigns are fully customized, incorporating domain registration, controlled infrastructure setup (e.g., mail servers), and the development of original content and scenarios. Each exercise is crafted to emulate realistic threat vectors and assess user susceptibility to credential harvesting, link interaction, and data disclosure.
Maritime Cybersecurity Drill
Cybersecurity drills are a critical mechanism for validating an organization’s incident detection and response capabilities under realistic conditions. CYGNUS designs and facilitates scenario-based exercises tailored to operational and regulatory requirements, drawing on deep experience in threat simulation and maritime cybersecurity operations.
Cybersecurity Course For Seafarers (E-learning)
This online course, delivered through CYGNUS Academy platform, provides targeted training on user-related cybersecurity risks, including vessel-specific considerations where applicable. The program includes interactive content, a knowledge assessment quiz, and issues individual attendance certificates upon successful completion, supporting compliance with crew training requirements.
