Security Leaders Urged to Accelerate Post-Quantum Cryptography Planning

Security experts warned that organizations must move faster on post-quantum cryptography readiness as quantum computing risks continue to advance. Forescout’s Rik Ferguson said only a small share of SSH servers currently support PQC, while business leaders remain slow to prioritize quantum-related disruption despite growing concerns over harvest-now-decrypt-later attacks. He urged organizations to inventory encrypted assets, embed quantum-readiness requirements into procurement, and build crypto-agility into systems before cryptographically relevant quantum computers become practical. The message highlights that PQC migration is a long-term operational challenge that must begin before quantum threats fully materialize.
